All HHS juniors will take the ACT with Writing at Homewood High School on Tuesday, March 20th.  Juniors should report to their assigned testing room by 7:45 a.m. with an ACT-approved calculator.  Phones, smart watches, fitness bands and other devices with recording, internet, or communication capabilities are not allowed in the testing room and may not be accessed during breaks.  It is best for students to leave these items in their locker.  Food and beverages are not allowed in the testing room; however, students are encouraged to bring a healthy snack to have during the break as testing will last until approximately 12:45 p.m.  Juniors will eat lunch after testing concludes.

This particular administration of the ACT, which is cost-free to juniors, is part of the State of Alabama testing program.  There is no need for students to register to take this ACT being administered at HHS.

The ACT, or American College Test, is a national college admissions examination that consists of subject-area tests in English, Mathematics, Reading, and Science Reasoning.  The ACT with Writing includes the four subject-area tests plus a writing test.  For more information about the ACT, please visit www.actstudent.org.

If you have questions, please contact Amanda Esslinger, Assistant Principal for Instruction, Elaine Meeks, Building Test Coordinator, or the junior counselors, Delisa Brooks (last names A-K) and Whitney Voltz (last names L-Z) at Homewood High School.
