Congratulations to the girls and boys cross country team for their performance at the AHSAA State Meet on Saturday.  The girls finished runner-up in a close race against a very talented Fort Payne team.  The boys defeated Cullman to stretch the win streak to 6 consecutive State Championships in cross country!

Both teams entered the meet ranked 2nd behind the teams mentioned above.  The girls closed what was projected to be a 50+ point win by Fort Payne to just 15 points.  Leading the girls was Celie Jackson with a 2nd place finish and a personal record of 18:48 for 5K.  Behind her Audrey Nabors (12th place, 20:03) received All-State honors.  Rounding out the Patriots scoring was Alex Steltenpohl (17th, 20:15), Hanna Brook Gibbons (18th, 20:34), and Maris Owen (19th, 20:41).

Will Stone won the boys race for the second straight year with a time of 15:46.  Jackson Merrell (9th, 16:36) and Alvin Finch (12th, 16:40) both finished with All-State performances.  Azariah Kipchumba (18th, 16:59) and Logan Justice (20th, 17:03) rounded out scoring for the Patriots.
